Arely, as she preferably goes by, is an immigrant and DACA recipient originally from Southern Mexico. She has resided in Deep East Texas since age eight and is familiar with the political landscape of rural towns and how this affects low income individuals. Arely is a first generation alumni from Stephen F. Austin State University from where she holds her Bachelors of Social Work from. In 2020, Arely co-created Abrir Coalition, a solely digital and community led organization serving the undocumented community. Arely is eager to build engagement and connectivity with rural East Texans and ensure they know we matter. 

Arely, como ella prefiere, es una inmigrante y beneficiara de DACA originaria del sur de Mexico. Ha residido en Deep East Texas desde los ocho años y está familiarizada con el panorama político de las comunidades rurales y cómo esto afecta a las personas de bajos recursos. Arely es una alumna de Stephen F. Austin State University, donde obtuvo su Licenciatura de Trabajo Social. En 2020, Arely co-creó Abrir Coalition, una organización digital que sirve a la comunidad indocumentada. Ella está ansiosa por generar conectividad con los residentes rurales del este de Texas y asegurarse de que sepan que importamos.
