Rural Organizing Manager

Kassandra  is originally from San Benito, TX, located in the Rio Grande Valley, but relocated to East Texas and has lived and organized in Nacogdoches and at Stephen F. Austin State University the last four years. Kassandra has organized in organizations like Texas Rising, the Organization of Latin Americans, the LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus, and is a proud sxster of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. Kassandra holds experience organizing and advocacy through community outreach, research, and civic engagement initiatives at the local, state, and federal level. As Este Poder’s Rural Organizing Manager, Kassandra is eager to organize under this new role and work alongside amazing individuals and fellows to strengthen and build community power in rural East Texas communities of color. Kassandra is eager to assist in building up the Nacogdoches base and supporting our team and grassroots efforts throughout rural East Texas. 

Kassandra es originaria de San Benito, Texas ubicada en el Valle del Río Grande, pero se mudó al este de Texas y ha vivido y organizado en Nacogdoches y en la Universidad Estatal Stephen F. Austin durante los últimos cuatro años. Kassandra ha sido parte de organizaciones como Texas Rising, la Organización de Latinoamericanos, el LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus y es una orgullosa hermanx de Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. Kassandra tiene experiencia en organización y promoción a través de iniciativas de extensión comunitaria, investigación y participación cívica a nivel local, estatal, y federal. Como Gerente de Organización Rural de Este Poder, Kassandra está ansiosa por organizarse bajo este nuevo rol y trabajar junto a personas increíbles para fortalecer y construir el poder comunitario en las comunidades rurales de color del este de Texas. Kassandra espera ayudar a construir la base de Nacogdoches y apoyar a nuestro equipo y los esfuerzos de base en todo el este rural de Texas.
